Not exactly your average flight although Aconcagua is 6950m high, and bloody cold and windy, we were in fact almost blown off our high altitude camp at 6000m. It's a 2,5 week trip done with good local operators Inca Expeditions. Situated in the Andes - Argentina it's the highest summit outside of the Himalayas, not technical but the extreme altitude makes for an adventure. Have heard of folk who have paraglided from the summit ! Lex

Know 2 guys who have flown there - Pierre Carter managed to take off from the summit on New years eve 2007/8, and then the next day him and Guy Pitman took off from slightly lower and thermalled up to couple hundred meters above it before spiralling down because it was 2 cold!!
