Finally it is available!!!
The long awaited Electronic Airfields.Directory is now available and is even better than expected. Offering more countries within Africa and many many more photos and leisure destinations.
All the basic information you find in the publication is available in this comprehensive E-Version. We have tried to make it easier for you to update now with direct email and web links. We encourage you to send us any and all information you have that is not displayed in the program for the benefit of all those who are using the program, and to ensure as much as possible, the accuracy and completeness of all information.

Features of the
Electronic Airfields.Directory include:
Filter: show only those airfields you want to display on the map. You can filter by Country (most in Africa), Class (Major Airfield or Farm Strips), Facilities (ATC, Maintenance, Security, Accommodation etc), Category (Military, Civilian etc), Type (Helipad, Airfield), Rwy Length and Surface.
Find: allows you to search for a specific airfield by name/ICAO where you can then view its location on the map and view details for it too.
The map has various
zoom levels showing details of borders and major town locations. At the moment, there is a filter to declutter the map. Red dots display an individual airfield while pruple dots show locations where there are more than one airfield in the immediate area.
You will also find a few tips on
Flying In Africa. Entry Requirements are available for most countries. We again encourage pilots to email their 'cross-border' experiences for the benefit of other pilots who may want to travel to these often unpredictable African countries. Any tips to make travel easier and hassle free.
Other features include a
calendar where you can view planned dates for events and fly ins. You can also send through your event info for inclusion in the calendar.
A
"Been There" button allows you to submit info on your experiences at that particular airfield. For example: really good lunch available, hangars for rent or general info on facilities and upkeep of airfield.
The
"Send Updated Airfield Info" button is there for you to send facts regarding the airfield and runway conditions. If you know that owners have changed, or you have an updated telephone number for fuel as an example, you would use this section.
Another feature is the
"View In Google Maps" option which automatically displays the airfield in Google Maps. Using this feature, you can get a good idea of surrounding terrain if the satellite images are clear.
Please note we are keen to keep this data as accurate as possible and really appreciate the input you give us! Send through any suggestions and any information you know we do not have. Photos are also welcome!! Best to send through your over flight pics or approach so other pilots can get a good idea of the land surrounding the airfield.
The program will automatically search for updates and advise you if your version is out of date. You can then choose to download the update and it will install to the program. The updates will be small in size but frequent depending on the amount of feedback we get from you guys too!
