Think you would be interested - there is an adventure race comp going on at the moment in the alps - started yday. It is the Red Bull Xalps. I did make a blog post on it. Have a look and perhaps its worth mentioning on these forums? First time we have SA competitors. 2 Friends of mine - Competitor Pierre Carter, and supported James Braid. Pierre was first to the first turnpoint. It really is amazing. See the following website for info (www.freeflight.co.za) and watch with live tracking on www.redbullxalps.com.
Support for the guys would be greatly appreciated! Pierre walked/ran around 70km's yday if im not mistaken and is currently making a b-line to the Zel am See take-off to get flying~!
Cheers,
Ant
P.S. Mike Blythe and James Pitman are also flying around the world in their self-designed aircraft the Sling. Follow on: http://www.airplanefactory.co.za/world/
Hey Mark. Mike Arsenault here.
I Just got a Vid. cam for the helmet so I'll be making some vids. this season and posting them along with some pics. as well.
Thanks for the interest.
By the way, love the trike aircraft. It was my first choice of aircraft to get when I was wanting to get into flying but unfortunately due to the cost and a neighbor getting into PPG, I went with PPG.
Thanks did't realize they were all going to display on the main page, sorry. We spoke about 2 months ago whan I started my license and I orderd your DVDs, enjoyed them very much. And license is all done ,picked it up last Monday. Time to be free to adventure.
Mark, Can you tell me when flying the blue is out. What yopu guys do is fantastic. Wisah I had the ability to go off an adventure like that, I guess it takes a hell of a lot of planning. Can't wait for the next dvd.
No...I wish. I was too busy socialising with other Pilots and Instructors. Plus, Popham Fly in is a greta place to pick up stuff from manufacturers and trade - oil, plugs, filters and gear. Plus the Quik R and Chaser were doing trial flights. So lots of cool stands and a really fun day out. Trying to get in the circuit and land is huge fun - although not everyone's cup of tea....and some turned away. Huge numbers of aircraft.
I'm in Cape Town next week.......buying a house, sorting immigration papers and talking to Louie Van Wyk.
The DVDs arrived safely and without delay, I watched them both. Sequentially - obviously. Flying in africa - just the sort of stuff I have been dreaming of doing since I resigned my commission in the army. And Louie Van Wyk is becoming famous too - he is mentioned in Mike Taylor's book 'Land of Cloud Cuckoo'.
Thanks for the DVDs - I'm sure they're going to be watched over and over.
Hi Mark, thanks for the great comments. I'll be glad to put some photos and comments up, but give me till after the holidays, a bit crazy right now. The AirCAM is great. He and my stepson built it. He had a MaxAir Drifter before and it was on a monofloat. We live on the water and he kept it in the back yard on a rail, would crank it out into the water and away he went. He's flown the AirCam now since 2000 and been in 35 states with it. Look for updates, Sue Lowery, crew member, Chasing Lewis & Clark Across America.

Been a fan of yours for a while. Finishing up here in the UK and coming back to live in Cape Town.
Really starting to explore this site as it has a lot of SA stuff - all good.

Great website. Are you around in CT at the end of the month? I would like to call you regarding an idea that needs filming.
Cheers
Steve
